Smoke alarms

A function many landlords may find useful would be to record details of smoke and Co alarms within their properties. A smoke/co alarm has an effective life normally of around 10 years after which they need to be replaced (the manufacturer will normally print the replacement date on the unit) this could be set as an early warning event and calendar entry. Additional information that could be recorded

Location: Property/Room
Make & Model
Date installed
Replacement Date
Type: Smoke/Co
Power: Wired/Battery/Both
Battery Type: 9v/AA
Date battery replaced
Date Tested

I'd also find this very useful. Can you extend it to handle different white goods - so capture the make/model and 5 year warranty on the washing machine and service interval on the boiler etc?

Hi,

You can already record alarm information under Property Manager (click on the property and then on the Property Essentials tab, scroll down to 'Alarms and Codes'). It doesn't have specific fields for all of the information that you mention but you can record them in the Details box, and it isn't flagged up by the Early Warning system but you could enter the renewal date in the Calendar for now.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Linking the alarms to the Early Warning system is a good idea and we will add it to our feature request spreadsheet, along with an area for White Goods, and monitor how many requests we get for them both.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Kind Regards,

Both features sound good. How do we vote on the ones we like?
