Mortgage refund?

Hi,

How do I represent a refund from the mortgage lender?

I'm remortgaging and paid a final payment right before the remortgage which was then refunded (plus a bit more due to interest calculations) a few days later.

If I look at making a manual payment for the mortgage it doesn't let me enter negative amounts. Is there a better way to show this?

Thanks

Hello

Thank you for contacting support

I would say your best option is to record the refund in Property Manager > Income and set the account to Mortgages and Loans. You might want to spit it up so that the capital goes to Mortgages and Loan and then add a second income for the interest assigned to Mortgage and Loan Interest.

Kind regards
Roy

For info, I think may have found a better way...

View the mortgage, then click the Fees & Charges tab.
Add a credit note for the amount, then create a refund.
