When is a Tenabt NOT a Tenant?

Hello.

I wonder if this might be a topic you would care to discuss here.

The Cambridge Dictionary definition of a TENANT is someone that PAYS rent for the use of a building or land.

Argument. If they stop paying under that definition they are no longer a tenant, at which point they become a squatter which under English law it's a police matter if it's in a residential building.

Would this be an argument one could win in court?
